my shavuos was really great. probably the best yom tov this year.
i keep two days of yom tov….
beside that i like two days… i don’t know where i will live when i will ‘grow up’?
probably not poland… but where?
i realized also that main problem with poland is that it’s socially off, meanig i have too little friends…
davening was great, learning was great… amazing experience…
Few guys in the yeshivah decided to buy a swimming pool. They wandered where should it be put?
They decided the roof of one of the buildings in which yeshivah rents apartments would be suitable.
So 20 guys gave 50 shek (shekel) each, and they bought it.
One of the guys set it up on the roof let me mention that the pool would hold 5 tones of water) they filled it up with water (it takes like a day to fill it up)… but something didn’t work out so they needed to empty it out and fill it again. So they made the water go from the roof down on a courtyard below…
A lady living in the same building had an thought (not without reason) that it was raining the whole night… Just in the morning the lady was wondering why it was raining only on her courtyard not anywhere else?..:))) So she asked the landlord and the landlord tried to go to the roof… but for some mysterious reason it was closed locked, so he brake the door and saw the whole thing…
And as you know midrash, or you don’t know, next day there were signs all over yeshivah saying ‘the roofs can be used only with explicit permission of r. Dovid Solo…’. actually i’ve fitted in the word explicit, but anyway it was hilarious enough.
click on the photo to see the pictures of the swimming pool.
And Nosson K. estimated the cost of 5 tones of water to be 11 shekel.
The thing settled that they gave back the pool to the shop and they bought a smaller one (one quarter smaller, i don’t see why it makes such a difference)… and everybody seems to be happy with it… and also nobody is complaining….

basically i’m trying to go back to the schedule in the yeshivah.
the in shabosos are in degel, not the school.
my dirah is completlly different now. last year it was a weird dirah, more eastern dirah (by the way poland belongs to central europe, not east - latin as script, between germany and russia, democracy, part of EU an NATO)… of course relatively… everything is relative.
last year there was one polish, one belarussian, one ukrainian, three british.
now there is one polish, one british, four americans (would be five if Itay wouldn’t leave just like that :))))
this puts the average latitude line somewhere on the atlantic.
of course if doesn’t matter where somebody is from… of course
the sun on it’s own makes the atmosphere a little more chilled.

so i’m back into the yeshiah…
in poland i was encouraged to go study something of substance… go to university not ‘just’ yeshivah… yes… you need to go on in life… do something serious…
seems to me, and for people whom the*r *pi*ion *atte*s t* me, like i’m not ready for this ’serious’ life… maybe i’ll *e**r b* r***y…
good should help in the last… i mean last before… and i mean words written…
i know it’s difficult to understeand….. but there is now way i can write something and just people which i want will read it. so i need to write in code and just people for whom it matters will decipher it.
btw i thnk yeshivah is a serious place… maybe it’s the most important time in ones life… i heard what’s the pshat in bochur? bachelor, kawaler in polish, means also chosen in holy tongue, means it’s chosen time in ones life… i has also amazing impact on ones life…
in the yeshivah itself… it’s great… took me few days to go back to the spirit… but now i think it’s fine….
and shavuos in like two and a half weeks

at the beginning of last zman i found this ‘think’ (small booklet with space to write what did you learns each day) that shows you when to repeat what you learn in order that you won’t forget it. it was very important.
later on i’ve read the book of person known as shas kohen about way of learning, with deeper understanding and better retention. simply speaking the way is like that: you learn once the piece of gemara, like 4-th on an amud (best one topic), than you say it over with your own words, than you learn next piece from gemara, and than you say it over. when you learn the amount that you wanted to learn you go over from memory all the pieces. than you do everything twice again…. it all takes a lot of time… but the gain is immeasurable… and with rosh’s amazing approach to learning itself it works good.
so i combined both of those systems, one of learning and one of repeating.. and it works great…
