that’s what happened to me during one of my festive meals…
we were eating and everything was fine… - we namely midrash shmuel boys.

at certain point some bochrim came, with rather simple faces, and were welcomed by the host.

they were completely dumb. they were just discussing different rich individuals, where are they from, how much they earn and who are they related to.

i was sitting for like 15 minutes staring at them. i could not believe my eyes. they had nothing else to speak about.

they were completely shallow empty and … crum…

friend to my right said “the rosh yeshivah says money isn’t everything, and they just speak about money”

i said “i make research on them, like rosh yeshivah would do” - the rosh (as i think) is interested in everything and such people are interesting “cases”.

after some time i couldn’t stand it anymore - there was nothing more i could learn

so i benched and left

after i left i met one avrech and i told him about this.. i said that they were so different from us and he said that i should thank God that i’m in such yeshivah as midrash shmuel.

than i went to sleep in my dirah (davened minchah before the s’udah)
than i got up, davened maariv in “tha grah” and saw somebody waving to me from across the street. it was meyer.

so i went to him and started telling him what happened. in middle of me speaking he said “you ate by X.”, he was right, i ate by X. he lift his hand so i will give him “five”
“how did you know?” i asked

“i was there also, and also the XXX[name of a popular yeshivah] guys came… … they are like a different briah”,

“exactly” i said with satisfaction that there is somebody who thinks (at last in this respect) the same way…

so, hereby, i want to thank rabbi Josh Spinner and God (random order) for letting me know and making me end up in such a yeshivah as midrash shmuel.

and to say only that rav Brevdah, reknown speaker in eretz israel, who learned in Kolel Chazon Ish, said when he came to speak in our yeshivah few days before rosh haShanah , that everybody who is in midrash shmuel should analyze himself and check what zechuyos he has that he is in such a yeshivah as midrash shmuel…..
